Six Flags Over Texas Of Yesteryear At The Park Reunion

I think it would be great if a lot of folks got together around next year..maybe in the summer or fall of 2010 to reflect back and remember the park's past and talk about good times and memories...It could be at Six Flags or some other location...it would be cool to have it somewhere where we could be allowed to decorate with old nostalgia from Six Flags....pictures, souvenirs and the such...this is just an idea...it would be for anybody from the park's beginnings (1961 or before to around the late 80's! Anyone welcome though from any period! The years that I love of SFOT the most are from 1978-1985. Just kicking the idea around. I would love to meet with other Six Flags Over Texas history enthusiasts and hear your memories and stories firsthand and meet employees from the yesteryear of the park! Let me know!

I think a reunion sounds like a great idea. I was in the 1980 "Six Flags Follies" in the Sounthern Palace and I would love to see everybody from all of the shows.

The former employees association is now working on planning two events:
a large reunion for the 50th anniversary in 2011 and a smaller event this summer.

The 50th should be a major event for the park, so a large reunion will be in order.

We have in the past had a smaller event before a larger one, such as the 45th anniversary, in order to build interest for the big reunion.

Planning details will be posted on this site and SFAFE.org as the become available. We will have save the dates as soon as possible.

We have had the event several times on the Annviersay day of Aug. 5.

In the past we have had the smaller reunions off-site so that everyone can talk and bring pictures, etc...

The larger reunions have been in the park with a private party at the end of the day.
